Disney+ has set Friday, Nov. 20, as the premiere date for the third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, following the release of a trailer that introduces the series’ adaptation of Rick Riordan’s The Titan’s Curse.
The eight-episode season is the first television adaptation of the third book in Riordan’s five-part Percy Jackson series. The story continues the conflict between the gods and the Titans as Percy Jackson and his allies take on a mission involving several powerful demigods and a group of young characters from the books.
“It’s definitely our darkest season yet.”
Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, discussed the season’s tone in an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this year. He said the third book is where the series becomes more deeply connected to the larger conflict in the story.
What the trailer shows
The preview opens with Percy describing an approaching war between the gods and the Titans. The trailer presents Percy and Thalia, played by Tamara Smart, as two of the story’s most powerful demigods while their relationship becomes strained.
A mission to rescue the young demigods Nico and Bianca Di Angelo, played by Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie, goes wrong. Artemis, portrayed by Dafne Keen, then gives Percy and the group a new assignment connected to Annabeth, played by Leah Sava Jeffries.
Kate McKinnon appears as Aphrodite, who tells Percy that love will be important to surviving the conflict. The exchange also hints at the continuing tension between Percy and Annabeth, whose relationship has developed across the first two seasons.
- Premiere: Friday, Nov. 20, on Disney+
- Episode count: Eight episodes
- Primary adaptation: The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Riordan’s series
The trailer also includes a confrontation with Talos, an automaton from the books, and a sequence in which Percy appears to take on the “weight of the sky.” The scenes preview the season’s larger action without revealing its final outcome.
The first season premiered in December 2023, followed by the second season in December 2025. The second-season finale’s credits indicated that the series would return in 2026, and Disney+ has now placed the new season’s debut in November.
