Auditions for “Dracula” to be held in Strebel Auditorium
James McClendon, Editor-in-Chief
Auditions will be held for “Dracula” on Dec. 6 and 7. They will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Strebel Auditorium.
This version of the play is based on a new adaption of the Bram Stoker novel. Readings from the script that will be used for auditions and can be found on the Call Board outside of Strebel and on the Utica College Theatre Facebook page.
Alec Babour, who teaches acting classes at Utica College, wrote the adaptation.
“The fact that we are producing it will give Alec the chance to ‘workshop’ it a bit and iron out the last little details so it can be published and produced by other theater companies,” professor Laura Salvaggio said.
Those interested in auditioning should attend one of the scheduled days ready to read parts. Students are encouraged to wear presentable clothing that do not restrict movement.
Students should also bring schedule information for next semester, as well as any information on potential rehearsal conflicts. Rehearsals will begin at the beginning of the spring semester and the performance dates will be Feb. 23 to 26.
