Ghana is located in West Africa which isn’t a very large country, but it is widely known.
The capital city of Ghana is Accra.
Ghana is very hot, feeling like summer all year round.
The Elmina Castle, which was a fort used for slaves during the slave trade is located in Ghana. It is a very popular monument visited by many, including the Obama family.
Most holidays are celebrated the same in Ghana as they are here in the U.S. However, Ghana is a very religious country, so for religious holidays such as Christmas and Easter, many attend church.
On Christmas Eve, Ghanaians dedicate an entire church service to singing carols.
There are a number of different tribes in Ghana and each tribe has its own language.
The most popular sport in Ghana is football, better known as soccer in the U.S.

There are currently 10 regions in Ghana that are further divided into 216 local districts.
